Brushed natural oak makes for a wonderfully muted floor, a great example being this Parisian apartment designed by architect Antonio Virga.
Virga designs for some of the top names in fashion and interiors, including Chloe and Dior - there's a little bit of Kelly Hoppen to this look too.
You can achieve this look using unfinished solid or engineered oak flooring, applying a product such as Blanchon Wood Floor Environment which doesn't change the natural colour of the oak.
